In this guide we will deal with tips and
strategies for Texas Hold'em. Of course there
are people that can just start playing, but for
those who aren't great in Texas Holdem, you are
invited to read this guide to get in the
business quickly. It's recommended to remember
the guide so you can increase your winning
chances. We will start with the order of the
strong hands, so you would know on which hands
you should put your money.
Very strong hands: Pair of Aces, pair of
Kings, pair of Queens, Pair of Jacks, Ace and
King suited.
Strong hands: Ace-Queen, Ace-Jack, Ace-10, King-Jack,
Queen-Jack, Jack-10, King-10, Queen-10
suited.
Ace-King, Ace-Queen, Ace-Jack, King-Queen,
Unsuited.
Pair of 10, pair of 9.
Medium hands: Jack-9, 9-10, 8-9, 7-8, Ace with any card
suited.
King-Jack, Queen-Jack, Jack-10 unsuited.
Pair of 7, pair of 8.
Other hands that sometimes you should play
with: King-9, Jack-8 suited.
Ace-10, King-10, Queen-10 unsuited.
Pair of following cards, unsuited for example:
7-8, 5-6, 4-5 etc...
Every low pair.
Hands you shouldn't play with: All the other hands, it's recommended to avoid
playing with them. Of course it's important to
remember that luck is a factor and actually you
can win with every starting hand even if it's
not a good one. Of course it works to the other
side; you can start with a good hand, and lose
to someone who got good cards.
More tips and strategies: *
Play carefully in the start of the game to get
into the game's spirit and of course learn the
players. If you started with a good hand, you
can go for it from the beginning, if other
players play carefully – you can knock them out
of the game at an early stage.
* Play aggressively if you got a good hand, it
enters money to the pot and forces weak hands to
fall (its better that those hands will be out of
the game, they can get lucky with the cards on
the table).
* If you started with a small pair you should be
careful and enter when the pot is small. If you
didn't get a card for three of a kind - you
better fold.
*
Play aggressively when more possibilities open
for you after the flop. If you have a chance for
a Flush, Straight, or three of a kind – you
better raise the bet.
*
Watch out for following hands on the table (for
example 5, 6, 7), even if you have a pair,
because it's more likely that someone has/will
have a Straight. Likewise, watch out from suited
cards on the table (for example 8,10,4 clubs)
because it's very likely that one of the players
will have the Flush.
* If you are caught bluffing it's not that bad –
this way the other players won't have any idea
when you are bluffing and when you aren't. Of
course you also need to learn the players, how
much are they betting, call and bluff + when
they respond.
* Don't play every hand, if you get a bad hand –
fold and save your money for a better hand. In
case you can fold without losing money – do so
(check).
* If you get the idea of Texas Hold'em in games
for fun, act like the chips are real money, and
then you will play like you don't care,
otherwise when you play on real money - you will
lose money.
* Watch out for big games with strong hands (if
all 9 players play and also if only 6 players
play). In games with low hands, there is always
a possibility that you will win with a small
pair.
* If you lose money, don't increase your game
aggression, play your game and through time your
luck will change. Don't try to defeat other
players, let them try to defeat you.
* Learn the possibility to get each hand, a player
that knows to guess possibilities is a good
player. It's also important that you play from
time to time that you will stay in shape + have
more experience.
* It's recommended to change your game style from
time to time because if all the time you will
play the same you will get known. Of course it's
recommended to learn from your loses, mostly
they teach how to play better but the most
important thing is – don't give up.
*
Watch out from tables with big money, most of
the players there are very good (you can watch
them and learn). Never play in a table that you
can't afford to be in it!
